Notodden og omegn Heimefrontmuseum – the Home Front museum – is housed at Skolegata 2b in Notodden. The museum collects and presents the history of war and resistance in Notodden and Øvre Telemark under the occupation – from the broad lines to the close, human stories. The building itself carries a weight: during the occupation, when it went by the name Skoland, it was used by the Germans for interrogations, and today it is this very house that holds the museum telling that story. The museum is behind the book "Lamplight – krig og motstand i Notodden/Øvre Telemark 1940–45" (2016), and makes the Home Front's local history available to new generations.
